Motala has had major problems with its outdoor pitch and had several matches disrupted by weather and wind last season. Now the club with over 30 seasons in the highest league, SM gold in 1987, is going down in the league system.
– I think it’s tragic. I feel sorry for IFK as an association, because IFK has done so much right and good over the years but never received support from the municipality, says Nicklas Ögren about the decision to Bandypuls.
The club has made it clear that the contracts with the players also apply in division one and require financial compensation in the event of a change of club.
According to the ranking, IFK Vänersborg is now the first in line to fill the vacancy.
– It is absolutely not unthinkable, says club manager Tobias Johansson.
