Stina Nilsson has had enough of biathlon.
And now change sport again to long-distance running instead.
Now harsh words are being directed at how the Swedish have been treated.
It was for four seasons as a biathlete Stina Nilsson. But now that career is over and it was certainly no bed of roses.
Criticism of Stina
The 30-year-old has had to endure harsh criticism in both Sweden and Norway, where many questioned why she left cross-country skiing, where she belonged to the world’s top. The experts have been the most critical and several have been completely at a loss as to why Nilsson had to struggle with the actual skiing in biathlon.

Stina has also been open about the fact that she does not read or hear what is said about her, but has instead focused on herself. This week, the national team colleague stepped down Mona Brorsson out and fought back against the criticism and among the Swedish people, many have supported Nilsson during the tough time.
“Degraded her”
Now it is clear that Stina Nilsson is changing sports again and choosing to compete in long races instead. Then another voice is raised for how Swedish has been treated in recent years.
“I think it’s sad news when I read that my great idol Stina Nilsson is going to stop biathlon, even if I continue to see her on the ski track. But according to my opinion and that of others, she never got a chance to develop in peace and quiet if you compare it to other biathletes who kept at it for about 8-10 years and only in the last few years achieved results”, writes a submitter with the name “Alla ska be treated with respect” in the local newspaper Norrbottenskuriren.

The submitter is highly critical of all TV experts who have acted disrespectfully towards Stina.
“Was it because she came from a skiing career as a world star that certain media and ‘understanders’ in the TV studio sometimes almost demeaned her efforts? I wonder if everything negative that was written and said by so-called experts did not affect her more than she admits,” the person writes in the newspaper.
“There are many ways to make a person feel like a failure, we see evidence of that on a daily basis. Will continue to follow Stina’s career and think she is brave who dares to try.”
