Blood and Honey 2 is extremely gory

Almost 2 years ago, the copyright of the classic children’s book Pooh the Bear went into the public domain. This presented an opportunity that director Rhys Frake-Waterfield immediately seized. The The cuddly honey bear was quickly converted into a bloodthirsty killing machine. The result was a more or less attractive low-budget slasher film called Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. Despite the devastating ratings, the calculation at least worked out financially. So a sequel was inevitable – and Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 goes one step further in every respect.

Here’s what Yves thinks of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2:

Extremely bloody and extremely boring | Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 Review

A budget of just $50,000 for the first part was followed by a box office take of almost $5 million. It was now ready for Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 more than five times the budget available. According to video editor Yves, that doesn’t make it a really good film.

Blood and Honey 2 offers more of everything. Where the previous version only sent two of the Hundred Acre Forest residents, Pooh and Piglet, on the hunt, this time Owl and Tigger are also joining in. From a purely visual perspective, the sequel looks at least a little more high-quality than its predecessor. Above all, the level of violence increased significantly. The cuddly toy massacre sometimes drifts into excesses that are reminiscent of the creative escapades of Terrifier 2.

A new horror universe is emerging around Winnie the Pooh

Under the banner of the so-called Twisted Childhood Universe, the characters from Winnie the Pooh will be joined by other childhood heroes. In Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, among other things Bambi and Pinocchio to the nightmare Avengers join us to collectively destroy our childhood memories.

In keeping with the Marvel references, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 also has a post-credit scene that promises a reunion with the fantastic animals.
