Charlotte Baris: When it was adopted in the summer of 2022, a European directive caused a lot of talk. Banning all thermal vehicles is the objective that the European Union has set to reduce its carbon emissions… But not only that. This should also allow it to become less dependent on oil which – as we know – is a resource with limited stocks. What about electrical energy?

63% of our electricity comes from our nuclear power plants. And these power plants are themselves dependent on a natural resource – uranium. When you think about it, global stocks are not unlimited here either. And as in recent years, atomic energy has become very popular again almost everywhere in Europe and around the world, the situation raises questions.

We can add that with the electrification of uses in industry, our energy needs will increase very quickly. So in the future, will we have enough uranium to satisfy them? This is the question we ask La Loupe in this episode.
