The trees will be straightened again in 2023. In addition, the trees have largely been pruned back, not much is left of the original crown. The architect suggested a beautiful round crown: “The tree has a nice regular crown structure, ultimately growing to a height of 7 to 12 meters and 5 to 6 meters wide.” This was visibly unsuccessful, they have become slender trees, while according to the architect no topiary was necessary in the first years. Terra Nostra had already predicted the pruning away of most of the crown in 2019, they wrote: “The construction does not sufficiently take into account the fact that the iron trees must be managed as bonsai.”
