Yesterday, Prince Louis turned a year older and, according to tradition, the British royal family has taken a new photo of the birthday boy to share with the world. A congratulatory greeting and the freshly taken picture of Prince Louis turning six has his mum and dad now published in a post on X.
“Happy sixth birthday, Prince Louis! Thank you for all the warm greetings,” Prince William and Princess Kate wrote in the post.
In the post there is also a line of text stating that it is his mother, the Princess of Wales, who is the photographer behind the camera.
The tours around the edited images
The picture of Prince Louis is the first that the British royal family has shared since the rumors about the edited pictures just over a month ago. Princess Kate then shared a picture of her and the children, but the picture was quickly taken down by several picture agencies after they suspected that the picture was manipulated.
She then admitted that she had edited the picture.
“Like many amateur photographers, it happens that I experiment with photo editing,” the princess wrote on Instagram.
Shortly after, another picture appeared, this time depicting Queen Elizabeth with several of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Examinations showed that even in that picture there were several errors.
The speculation before the cancer announcement
The edited photos diluted the speculation that already existed about Princess Kate and her health. She had not been seen since January and various theories about what happened to her abounded.
But at the end of March, the British court then announced that Princess Kate had suffered from cancer, that in January she underwent a major abdominal operation in London.
– It has taken time for me to recover from a major operation to be able to start my treatment. But above all, it has taken time for us to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that suits them, and to reassure them that I will be fine, the princess said in a video.
