Four years ago surprised Stina Nilsson all when she left cross-country skiing to switch to biathlon instead. Now she’s doing it again.
Stina’s decision
On Tuesday, the 30-year-old made the unexpected announcement that she is putting down her investment in biathlon with immediate effect.
– The gun is put on the shelf and the rods are cut, so we’ll see how far I get, says Stina to SVT.
– Even when I switched to biathlon, I saw myself as almost a three-stage rocket. It will be cross-country skiing, biathlon and then I will try long-distance running. And now it feels very right and exciting!

Now has decided to invest in long-distance running instead, and many are surprised by the sudden announcement after four years as a biathlete. Nilsson has already signed for a Norwegian team and will compete at Ski Classics next season.
Magda’s shock
The former biathlon hero Magdalena Forsberg is shocked by Stina Nilsson’s unexpected decision.
– Huh, is she going to quit? It was really a surprise, says “Magda” in an interview with Expressen.

Many have been critical of Stina Nilsson during her career as a biathlete. But now Forsberg believes that she should be proud that she dared to take on the challenge.
– She has mixed and given over the years as a biathlete. But I am very impressed that she dared to take the step and try a new sport. And now I wish her all the best in the future with the new venture, says the Swedish icon to the evening newspaper.
