After the large drug seizure in Nynäshamn, six people have been detained. Five of the people are suspected of particularly serious drug offences. The sixth person is suspected of aiding and abetting. Another person has also been requested to be detained.
According to SVT’s sources, the drug seizure is 1.4 tonnes. Prosecutor Anders Nyberg does not want to go into the weight.
– What I can say is that the party far exceeds what is required to reach the current criminal classification. We have also done a rapid test which showed cocaine, he says.
The drugs were in a container in the port
It was last Thursday that the police, in cooperation with customs and the public prosecutor’s office, made the seizure in Norvik harbour.
– The narcotics were found in a container in the port, says Anders Nyberg.
He does not want to go into how the huge lot was found.
– I don’t want to go too deep into the measures we have taken as it could spoil the investigation.
Now the acute phase of the case is over, and work continues with investigative work which, according to Nyberg, will take a long time.
– We want to know all parts of this. Who is behind it and how the drugs ended up there, he says.
