The reigning Olympic champions from Norway won the first set 21-17. Next, Meeuwsen and Brouwer tied the score by winning 13-21. The decisive set was 12-15 a prey for the Dutch, who also dominated Mol and Sørum (2-0) in the group stage. In the quarterfinals, Meeuwsen and Brouwer recorded a convincing 2-0 victory over Brazil.
