What movie or series to watch tonight? The answer to this question, however harmless, is not always easy when you explore the program of television channels broadcast by TNT or Internet boxes or the associated content available in replay. But it becomes much more complicated when using a streaming or video on demand (VoD) service like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney + or Rakuten TV, to name a few. And you often have to spend – very – long minutes manipulating the remote control somehow to find the rare pearl. The exercise becomes even more difficult when you combine the services and subscriptions. A real headache, especially since the search engines available on all these platforms still have serious progress to make. It is not uncommon, in fact, after having laboriously entered the first letters of a film’s title using the television or box remote control, to see it appear in the results and claim victory … before to be disillusioned. The coveted film is not available, but others, which feature the same actors or whose style is similar, are offered instead. Guaranteed disappointment!

It presents the daily news of each platform (additions to catalogs), distinguishes series from films, specifies rental or purchase prices for all the services you have chosen, etc. Practical, JustWatch is also available as a smartphone app (iOS and Android), but also for connected televisions powered by Android TV, boxes AppleTV and HDMI keys Amazon FireTV. The service can be used free of charge without having to register. However, registration – also free – gives access to more functions. For example, you can find your search history and your lists of movies and series to watch on all your devices.
- On your computer, launch your usual web browser and go to the JustWatch.
- Click on the button To log in top right. In the window that appears, click the button My streaming services.
- In the list that appears, check the boxes in front of the names of the different services to which you have subscribed (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney +, etc.). It will always be possible to modify this list afterwards. When your selection is made, click Ended top right.
- Now click on the yellow button Join JustWatch.
- Provide an email address and password to create your account or choose to register using your Apple, Google or Facebook credentials to simplify the process. Tick the box I agree to the privacy policy (…) And click on Create an account.
- Now open your email. You should have received a request for confirmation of registration from JustWatch. Click on the button To confirm the record contained in the email you received. Your registration is now effective.
Your JustWatch account is now configured with the VoD and SVoD services available to you. All you have to do is find what you are looking for … or let yourself be inspired by new products. In both cases, JustWatch offers a wide variety of filters.
- If you’re looking for a specific movie, type the first few letters of its title in the search box at the top center of the page. Immediately, the first proposals appear. If the desired movie is not in the list, click on the link See more results for XXX (XXX represents the term you entered).
- All movies and series with the term you entered are displayed. You can apply filters to refine your search. To do this, click on the button Filters at the top right of the page.
- You can now choose whether it is a series or a film, define the genre (action, animation, comedy, drama, etc.) or even specify the year of release if you know it. Above all, you can choose to carry out your search on the catalog of one or more platforms. Click for that on The icons Flanked by the logos of the different services above the list in order to select or deselect them. Finally, you can choose to sort by alphabetical order, by popularity, by year of release or even leave it to chance.
- When you have found your film or your series, its file mentions various information. First, the viewing methods available: streaming, rental or purchase. Then, for each possibility, the prices are indicated according to the platforms that offer it. - Here you get the full cast of the movie or series, the summary of the work or each episode of each season of the trailers, and more.
- Did you find what you were looking for and this content is available on a service you have? Banco! If you are using your computer to watch it, all you have to do is click on the button of the service concerned within the framework Watch now.
- A new tab in your web browser opens and displays the relevant service page and directly presents what you want to see without having to do any research. If the connection to your account is automatic, you can start reading: otherwise, you will have to identify yourself.
- If you have no particular desire and prefer to discover the novelties? Return to the JustWatch home page by clicking on the name of the service at the top right of the page. Then click on the link New arrivals on top. All the films and series recently added to the catalogs of the various services you have are now displayed. You can obviously sort between series and movies or choose one platform over another.
JustWatch is available in applications for iOS and Android. Registration for the service is done in the same way as on a computer. The search and sort functions also remain similar. Only small variation: the handling of filters.

- Launch the application, then follow the specified operations upper to create an account. Otherwise, press the button Login in order to enter the usernames or passwords that you have already used. If you have chosen to identify yourself using your Google, Apple or Facebook account, press the appropriate button and follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
- Once identified in the application, press the button New arrivals at the bottom of the screen. All the covers of the films and series available on the streaming and VoD platforms available to you are displayed, classified by date of addition to the catalogs.
- Push the button Filters funnel-shaped, placed to the right of the link Series.
- A shutter unfolds. It allows you to choose the year of release using a graduated slider from 1900 (sic) to 2021, to set a minimum and maximum price for rental or purchase, to define the genre (action, drama, science fiction, etc.), but also the quality (SD, HD or 4K).
- When your choices are made, activate the link Ended at the top right to see the results. If the movie or series you’re looking for is listed, tap its cover. You then access its complete file.
- Are you ready to watch it on your mobile? Press the service name who proposes it. If the correct app is installed on your device, it opens immediately. All that remains is to start reading. Good session !
