A 46-year-old Norfolk County man faces numerous charges following two April 14 incidents including a disturbance at a Simcoe residence.

Norfolk OPP officers were sent to a Kent Street North address at about 8:16 am Upon arrival, officers determined that two people had become embroiled in an argument with one person being physically assaulted.

The victim received minor injuries, police said.
The accused has been charged with assault with a weapon, assault, failing to comply with a probation order and unlawfully in a dwelling house.
Later, at about 10:15 am April 14, Norfolk OPP officers were sent to a Court Street residence in Simcoe to investigate a break and enter.
The break-in had occurred at about 7:15 am when an individual forced his way into a shed on the property, stole some items and then fled the scene.
Officers said the suspect identified in the break and enter, was the same person accused in the Kent Street disturbance.

The accused has been charged with assault with a weapon, assault, failing to comply with a probation order, unlawfully in a dwelling house and break and enter. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Intimate partner violence
A 45-year-old Norfolk County man has been charged with spousal assault following an April 14 incident at a Norfolk County address.
Officers were sent to a Norfolk address at about 6:28 pm and learned that two people had become involved in a dispute with one person being physically assaulted. No injuries were reported, police said.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date.

Impaired driving
Norfolk OPP have charged a 21-year-old county man with impaired and dangerous driving.
The man was charged after officers were sent to investigate a single-vehicle collision on Colonel Talbot Road in the Courtland area at about 11:12 pm on April 13.
No injuries were reported but after assessing the driver’s sobriety, officers took him into custody without incident.
Norfolk OPP have also charged the driver with being a young driver having a blood alcohol content level above zero.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on May 14.
Anyone spotting an impaired driver is asked to call OPP or the nearest police authority by dialing 911.
Vehicle thefts
Norfolk OPP is investigating the theft of two vehicles including one taken from a Little Lake Road, Windham address on April 12.

The theft took place sometime between 1 am April 8 and 3:48 pm April 12. The vehicle stolen is a gray 2017 Hyundai ESM sedan.
The second theft was reported to Norfolk OPP at about 1:37 am April 15. A gray 2005 Honda Accord Sedan was taken from a Queensway West residence in Simcoe.
Norfolk OPP say an unidentified individual arrived at the residence by bicycle, entered the vehicle and was last seen heading eastbound on Queensway West.
