It has been a difficult year for Maja Dahlqvist.
Now she opens up about her innermost thoughts.
“It has been a tough season to say the least,” she writes in a long post on Instagram.
Already in 2014 did Maja Dahlqvist debut at the World Cup and has since won the overall Sprint Cup twice (2022 and 2023). But the tenth season at the World Cup was not at all what she had hoped for, and it turned out to be a really hard winter.
Maja’s tough years
After a leaden start to the season, Dahlqvist did not manage to take a single podium place before the New Year and the disappointment was great. But when it looked the darkest, Maja found the strength within herself and in the new year it was much better.

The recently turned 30-year-old secured three individual podium places and one podium place in the relay. Now she opens up about the difficult winter with all the miscalculations and shares her innermost thoughts with the Swedish people.
“Thanks for this year! It has been a tough season to say the least. I didn’t reach my goals, but I’m so grateful that the season got its glimmers of light at the end, proud how I climbed from the bottom to the podium and finished fourth overall in the sprint cup, it’s still not a shame considering the fast girls I compete with and against. Also so grateful for my girls in the national ski team, it wouldn’t have been the same without you,” she writes in an emotional post on Instagram.
Dahlqvist’s words
Maja Dahlqvist still feels very grateful about the season, even though it has been mostly difficult.
“There are so many who are on the road through thick and thin, through and against, and there are so many who should be thanked! Thank you to all of you at home who scream your hoarse on the sofa and who always cheer for team Maja!”, she writes on social media.
