Israel: Hezbollah commander killed

A Hezbollah commander has been killed in an Israeli attack in southern Lebanon, the Israeli military (IDF) said.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Shia militia Hezbollah claimed responsibility for a drone attack on Israel.

According to the IDF, a drone attack was carried out in the Lebanese Ain Baal, which is near Tyr, reports The Times of Israel.

Ismail Yusef Baz, who was killed, is described by Israel’s military as the commander of Hezbollah’s coastal sector.

Hezbollah has announced in a statement that Baz was killed, but did not mention his role.

The Iran-backed Islamist movement Hezbollah and Israel have repeatedly fired at each other in the border area between Israel and Lebanon, since the war in Gaza broke out in October last year. The latest violence in the area comes in light of this weekend’s massive Iranian robot and drone attacks on Israel.
