South Africa, in the 70s: This Apartheid regime plunges the country into state-imposed racism and anyone who opposes it is imprisoned. Among the insurgents are people who belong to the privileged white minority, such as activists Tim Jenkins (Daniel Radcliffe) and Stephen Lee (Daniel Webber). The two will sentenced to years in prison, to serve time in Pretoria, the prison for white men. But the two of them don’t want to accept this and make detailed escape plans.

Director and screenwriter Francis Annan developed the script based on the 2003 book Inside Out: Escape from Pretorai Central Prison, which Tim Jenkins wrote himself.
