We say big congratulations to Anja Pärson!
She is once again the best when it comes to winning the Champion of Champions.
But we suffer with Sebastian Larsson after the unfair treatment.

What incredible drama we got to experience in the Champions of Champions final on Sunday evening. The sixteenth season of SVT’s acclaimed television program has been taken to a whole new level this year with world-class entertainment.
Anja wins everything
This year’s edition of the Master of Masters has been both tough and extremely even – and in the end the strongest of them all won. After a real nervous press to the final, I got it Anja Pärson lift the winner’s trophy before the eyes of a bereaved Sebastian Larsson.

She is of course a worthy champion in the end, but it is still remarkable that she did not win a single individual event before the final program, if you disregard qualifying events. But when it mattered most, the Alpine icon stepped forward and was the very best.
– You have fought and it hasn’t always looked good. But once it’s a dent – then you’re there. Anja Pärson, you are the master of masters!, announces the presenter Mike Leijnegard.
– I’m surprised every time, when it matters, I’m there. I have hit at a disadvantage every time throughout the season, replies a shocked Anja.
Suffering with Sebbe
But of course you suffer with the runner-up Larsson, who is actually a more worthy winner and has been better throughout the season. The way he is unfairly treated in the finale also makes one genuinely pissed off as a TV viewer.
“Sebbe” wins the chase start in superior style after a clean display in the penultimate final race, but he still gets no advantage in the final duel for it. Instead, he is punished with Sisyphus’ stone and a complete nightmare start when he is assigned a stone weighing 80 kg, compared to Anja’s significantly lighter stone of 60 kg.
It will be ridiculous
We understand that SVT wants to level the playing field between men and women, but this is just ridiculous when Pärson is a physical phenomenon and significantly stronger than Larsson. This results in a big lead for Anja, which Sebastian certainly catches up with, but it must have taken a lot of power and energy for the lead-heavy stones.
– She is my superior woman. I couldn’t beat her, there’s no question about that, he says humbly after having to capitulate in the final duel.

A winner is still always a worthy winner and we wish Anja Pärson this victory very much. As we bid farewell to an absolutely fantastic season of the Champions of Champions, one that will go down in history and be remembered for a long time.
