(Finance) – “The data provided by Eurostat regarding fatal road accidents in 2022 in the EU, there are alarming numbers, with as many as 20,653 deaths. In fact, an increase of 4% is observed compared to 2021. In 2022 in the EU, an average of 46 deaths per million inhabitants were recorded due to accidents roads and in Italy alone 54 deaths per million inhabitants. These are large numbers which require high attention by promoting effective prevention campaigns and adequate sanctions. The New Highway Code represents the right opportunity to continue taking decisive steps to improve this trend that we cannot tolerate on our roads.”
