A few months before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Netflix unveils the trailer for its next horror film, Sous la Seine. Be careful, the small fish in the water swim as well as the big ones…

As the Paris Olympic Games fast approach, a big question remains: will we be able to swim in the Seine without catching tetanus or malaria? While the water quality is in “an alarming state” according to several NGOs, Netflix has planned a completely different scenario to spice up the Olympics. The platform unveils one of its next productions with absolutely impeccable timing, Under the Seine, which will be released on June 5. The film promises to be a cross between Jaws and the saga Sharknado with Parisian sauce. The trailer is simply brilliant: we’ll let you judge for yourself!

Under the Seine: better than Sharknado, SharknaJO!

You had to think about it, but Netflix did it! Summer 2024, Paris will host the triathlon world championships on the Seine for the first time. Sophia, a brilliant scientist, is alerted by Mika, a young activist devoted to ecology, of the presence of a large shark in the depths of the river. They have no choice but to team up with Adil, commander of the river police to avoid a bloodbath in the heart of the city.

The least we can say is that the pitch of this horrific production fits perfectly with current events, two years after the failed rescue of a beluga in the river and with the approach of the greatest sports production of the world. Under the Seine is directed by Xavier Gens, notably known for his films Hitman And Border(s). We find on the poster Bérénice Bejo (OSS 117: Cairo, nest of spies, The Artist, Best Female Newcomer, The past) and Nassim Lyes (The Lascars, New Rich). So, super nugget or big nugget? Answer on June 5!
