List: Three challenges for customs in the hunt for weapons and drugs

In January, the Swedish Customs Administration decided to uniformed customs personnel at the country’s borders must carry their service pistol, for example when drug seizures are to be transported. It will be the authority’s control department that can assess when it is justified.

Previously only plainclothes customs personnel who worked with reconnaissance and house searchesafter, for example, drug seizures in the mail, has been armed in the service.
