The astronomer: That’s why we almost never see a total solar eclipse in Sweden

Solar eclipses happen a little from time to time in different places in the world. But that it is total, that is to say that the sun is completely obscured by the moon, is much rarer.

The last time you could see a total solar eclipse in North America was in 2017. Monday’s event is expected to be one of the most photographed of the year, writes TT.

If you live in Sweden and are keen to see the space phenomenon during your lifetime, you should travel abroad. The next total solar eclipse will not be visible from here until the year 2126 – i.e. in 102 years.
