A fundraising event for former US President Donald Trump’s election campaign is expected to raise a record amount on Saturday.
The event takes place at the home of billionaire and investor John Paulson in Palm Beach, Florida, and is expected to bring in as much as $43 million, equivalent to almost SEK 460 million, according to Paulson.
The total tops the previous record recently set by President Joe Biden’s fundraiser, when $26 million was raised during an event attended by former presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, among others.
About 100 guests are expected to attend Trump’s fundraiser, including several billionaires. Whoever pays just over 800,000 dollars, corresponding to just over 8.5 million kroner, gets a seat at Trump’s table during the dinner.
