The Paris marathon takes place this Sunday, April 7, in the streets of the capital.

The 47th edition of Paris marathon takes place this Sunday, April 7. This time, there are 54,000 courageous people who have registered to cover the 42.195 kilometers in the streets of the capital, with for some the challenge simply to finish the race while for the professionals of the discipline it will be the opportunity to test before the Olympic marathon. The route will however be different this weekend, but it will still take some emblematic streets of Paris.

The Paris marathon route

The route for this 47th edition of the Paris marathon is identical to that of last year. The 54,000 runners will start on the Champs-Elysées, heading back down to Place de la Condorde. They will then head towards the Bois de Vincennes, east of Paris before returning along the Seine to the Bois de Boulogne. The end of the route returns towards the Arc de Triomphe via Avenue Foch

Among the French women, we will be watching in particular Marjolaine Nicolas and Léa Navarro.

For men, the last three winners will be present for this 47th edition, Abeje Ayana, Deso Gelmis and Elisha Rotich, as will Yuki Kawauchi, recent winner of the Boston marathon.
