Frida Karlsson comes from real misery.
Now the Swedish ski star opens up about everything.
– There is a curse on me, she says to Expressen.
The very last ski weekend remains Frida Karlsson this season. She can look back on another successful winter where she comes third in the overall World Cup standings.
Karlsson’s career
The 24-year-old is one of our most well-deserved skiers right now and has won an Olympic bronze, a World Cup gold, five World Cup silvers and four World Cup bronzes so far in his career. But when it comes to SM competitions, Karlsson has not succeeded at all as well.

She can only show a single SC gold at senior level and this year’s SC week was once again a disappointment. Already after two races she was forced to break going home and now she is breaking the silence about what really happened.
– I had a fever for three days. But I didn’t feel so sick, it wasn’t a “man cold” right away, Frida tells Expressen with a laugh.
– Although I still had quite a high fever. It was up to 39 degrees so I was probably quite sick anyway.
Frida opens up
Frida Karlsson has a long list of disappointments when it comes to SM competitions and she is now forced to admit that she has never completed a full SM week.
– Mmm, there’s a curse on me. I ALWAYS get sick at SM. It already started when I was a junior at JSM, when I got a stomach bug and whatever it was, she says in the interview.

After all the misery, it actually stings the 24-year-old’s heart that she doesn’t get to show off her best side when it comes to competing for the club team.
– Every year I think the same thing, that “now I’m going to make the people of Sollefteå happy and go to the SM for the club”. But… It will never be like that, she says ahead of this weekend’s competitions in the Smart Energy Cup, which is run at home in Sollefteå.
– It will be a lot of fun. It’s home ground – and then you want to be able to show off your best.
