Director Gore Verbinski (Lone Ranger) brings together an outstanding cast and mixes a lot of humor, a bit of fantasy and lots of pirate adventures into an irresistible umbrella cocktail full of Caribbean flair.
In particular the exuberant manner of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow puts the icing on the cake with a cherry on top. From today’s perspective, that’s exactly what leaves a bad aftertaste. The now highly controversial actor has recently drawn attention to himself with negative headlines and an extremely unpleasant mud fight in court.
