Russian-American journalist Alsu Kurmasheva, who was arrested in Russia in October, will remain behind bars until at least June. Her detention has been extended until June 5.

Kurmasheva, who works for US-funded Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, was arrested, among other things, for failing to register as a “foreign agent” with the Russian authorities. She is accused of spreading false information and gathering information about Russian military activities.

Alsu Kurmasheva was arrested about six months after her colleague, The Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich. He, too, remains in custody.
