Boxer Arsen Goulamirian, the only French world champion until Saturday March 30, lost his WBA light heavyweight belt on points against Mexican Gilberto Ramírez in Los Angeles, in the United States. Goulamirian, aged 36 and who had not fought since the end of 2022, never managed to impose his rhythm on Ramírez, named winner unanimously by the three judges after the twelve rounds of combat with a score of 118- 110. The Frenchman had been WBA champion since 2018 and had defended his belt four times. Entering the ring with the French and Armenian flags, his country of origin, Goulamirian dreamed of soon unifying world belts but will have to lower his ambitions for his next fight.
