Last year, many media outlets reported that Kry, Min Doktor and other online doctors suffered billions in losses.
This year, the companies continue to fall with blood-red numbers.
But it’s a success story nonetheless. The losses are shrinking, the share of the market is growing and for the first time an online doctor has made a profit.

Doktor24 first to go plus
Doktor24 has a turnover of SEK 238 million per year, according to the company annual report.
Daniel Kernell is CEO and co-founder behind Doktor24 and says this:
– It feels fantastic that we can now show both positive results and cash flow. The journey from start-up to profitability has at times been very challenging and required perseverance and focus, which has yielded results and today we stand stronger on two legs in both digital care and vaccination, he says.
The profit was modest. The operating result landed at a profit of seven million kroner for 2023, which Today’s Medicine was the first to report.
But it was still cheerful compared to 2022, when the company lost SEK 22 million.

Kry loses almost a billion
The competitor Kry is the largest in the network doctor industry, and according to its own information, has more doctors employed than the largest hospital on the European continent.
Last year it reported a loss of SEK 1.7 billion for the previous year.
The figures for this year are not complete, but since the company reversed the trend, it is likely that they will show continued negative figures for the full year 2023.
The group is significantly larger than Doktor24 and has a turnover of SEK 17 billion in Sweden.
Bleeding billions: “Great position”
Through a steel bath within the operations, it has been possible to graze the annual deficit.
“We are pleased to have acted so quickly and resolutely, so now we are in a great position,” said Kalle Conneryd-Lundgren, operational manager at Kry until Dagens Industri last year.
Now this year, he said that they became profitable in October, which means that you can count on positive figures in 2024 at least.
– For the full year 2022, we were not profitable. We became profitable in October 2022 and have been profitable since then, he says The medical journal.
One of the companies that invested in Kry is Flat Capital – The Klarna owners’ venture capital company that Nyheter24 wrote about earlier.
Daniel Oak is another major owner.
My Doctor – an upstart on the way?
Min Doktor and Doktor.se are more secretive in their appearance. Doktor.se has not communicated its annual report to Läkartidningen at all, and Min Doktor has reported a deficit of 77 million.
