Operation Gnomeregan and Zalazane’s Fall have started in WoW WotLK Classic

An exciting Easter awaits fans of World of Warcraft. The pre-event for Cataclysm Classic starts on March 27, 2024. A week later, the third round will begin on the Season of Discovery servers.

What can I expect at the Cataclysm Classic pre-event? Essentially the same event that paved the way for the Cataclysm expansion back in 2010. It starts on March 27, 2024 with the so-called Operation Gnomeregan and the recapture of the Echo Islands.

In the following phase, cultists appear who unsettle the residents of Azeroth’s capitals with their stories of impending doom. The constant earthquakes support the fear.

The scaremongering is having an effect. Entry into the capitals is strictly controlled. As part of a quest, you also help to check the papers at the gate. Later you infiltrate the cult and fight elementals that flow to the surface through cracks in the ground.

The climax is the eruption of Deathwing from the ground, which ultimately triggers the cataclysm. After the Cataclysm, the modernized versions of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms await you.

What is Operation Gnomeregan? High Tinkerer Mekkatorque requires the support of all Alliance fighters. Unite like-minded gnomes under the banner of Gnomeregan, complete Training Officer Steamcrank’s training, and ensure the capture of the city is a success.

What’s the deal with retaking the Echo Islands? Troll Chief Vol’jin wants to retake the troll homeland and therefore sets his sights on overthrowing witch doctor Zalazane. Find frogs for a totem ritual, spy on your opponents, and then take part in the storming of the Echo Islands.

Season of Discovery will soon have a new endgame

What has Blizzard announced for Season of Discovery? Phase 3 of the current Classic season starts on April 4, 2024. From then on you can level up from level 40 to level 50, earn ten additional talent points, plunge into the completely revamped endgame and search Azeroth for further secrets.

Here are the most important innovations in Classic Phase 3:

  • Each class gets at least six new runes that unlock new skills that have never existed before in the Classic context.
  • There are also two new rune slots, on helmets and bracers.
  • The portals in Ashenvale, Duskwood, Hinterlands and Feralas lead you to the Emerald Nightmare, where a new PvE event awaits you.
  • PvP ranks increase from 5 to 7 and there are new rewards such as PvP sets and accessories.
  • In the Sunken Temple of Atal’Hakkar you will no longer find the winding dungeon in which you could get so wonderfully lost, but a raid instance for 20 players – with eight bosses, fresh quests, useful recipes and brand new rewards.
  • The Blackrock Depths, Maraudon and Zul’Farrak dungeons offer new rewards for level 50 characters.
  • In addition to the current XP buff for characters up to level 39, there will be another buff with the start of phase 3 that promises characters of levels 40 to 49 50 percent more experience.
  • Phase 3 brings dual talent distribution, which allows you to switch back and forth between two skills.
