Serial killer horror like youve probably never seen before Trailer

Chris Nash’s experimental horror film In a Violent Nature has been on everyone’s lips since the Sundance Film Festival in January 2024. At least among those who appreciate innovative slashers and don’t find it too disturbing to wander through the plot looking over the killer’s shoulder for a change. Almost like becoming him control as a murderous character in a video game.

Of course, the idea of a horror film with a twisted perspective is not entirely new. We’ve seen this in a similar way in Halloween – The Night of Horror or Behind the Mask. But that’s not the only unusual feature of the film. Additionally The Canadian production does not have a soundtrack (via Variety) and is inspired by the peculiarities of so-called slow cinema. The bloodshed will probably be correspondingly slow.

That’s what the horror hit In a Violent Nature is all about

In In a Violent Nature, a speechless, zombie-like killer wearing a disturbing mask stalks a group of teenagers through the Ontario woods. According to The Canadian Press, screenwriter and director Nash cited Gus van Sant’s Death trilogy, consisting of Gerry, Elephant and Last Days, as the main inspiration for his film, not other slasher films.

The cast includes Lauren-Marie Taylor, known from Friday the 13th Part 2, as well as Ry Barrett, Charlotte Creaghan and Timothy Paul McCarthy.

When is the horror film supposed to come out?

In the United States, the slow slasher will be released in theaters on May 31, 2024 before moving to the genre streaming service Shudder later this year. A German start date is not yet known, But we’ll keep you updated.
