It’s not a given that actors who are part of a big series follow it as passionately as the fans. In the case of Blue Bloods – Crime Scene New York there is that even more passion from the stars of the series. Danny Reagan actor Donnie Wahlberg is particularly vocal.
Since Blue Bloods premiered on CBS in September 2010, Wahlberg has been part of the cast of the American crime series, which is slowly but surely moving towards its finale after 14 seasons. 279 episodes have been broadcast in recent years. But which is the best? For Wahlberg the matter is clear.

Back in 2020, he spoke about his absolute favorite episode of Blue Bloods on the series’ official YouTube channel. Unfortunately the video is not available in Germany. However, pop culture site Looper captured Wahlberg’s response.

This is probably my favorite episode of Blue Bloods to date the pilot episode, the very first episode. I see it on reruns every now and then and it’s still really good after all these years.
There is also a bit of nostalgia:
With Tom [Selleck] and Bridget [Moynahan] and the rest of the cast was a great experience. I don’t know if we can ever top thatI know we came close because we’ve done some amazing episodes, but this one is an unexpected treat.
It would be interesting to hear whether Wahlberg would still name the same episode after four more years of Blue Bloods. At least there were some strong chapters in the most recent seasons. The magic of a pilot episodein which you worked for the first time with an ensemble that will accompany you for over a decade, will probably be very difficult to top.
When does Blue Bloods season 14 start in Germany?
There is currently no specific start date for the 14th season of Blue Bloods in Germany. The 13th season is currently running on Sat.1 Gold in this country. In the USA, the first part of the finale has been broadcast since February 14, 2024. The very last episodes of the popular crime series are scheduled to be published in the fall.
