On Sunday, the Moscow District Court announced that two of the suspected terrorists behind the concert attack have been charged, reports Reuters.
Now they risk life in prison.
Footage released by the Russian Investigative Committee shows the defendants being brought bloodied into the heavily policed courthouse in Moscow.
According to AP, they are expected to be assigned restrictions before the verdict is handed down.
Four men were arrested after the crime. Putin has claimed that the perpetrators were heading in the direction of Ukraine, where they would receive help to cross the border.
Ukraine has denied any suggestion of involvement. Even the White House says that there is no indication that Ukraine had anything to do with the terrorist act.
Several countries in the West believe that most of the indications are that it is the terrorist group IS, which itself claimed responsibility for the attack, that carried out the massacre.
So far, 137 people have been confirmed dead and more than 140 injured in what is the deadliest attack in Russia in 20 years.
