How was this list created? This list is exclusively about fights from Dragon Ball Z. The classic Dragon Ball, GT and Super have been left out here. Fights from films are also not included. So no Janemba or Broly.

1. Goku vs. Vegeta
The first fight between Goku and Vegeta was in the Saiyan Saga, where Raditz, Nappa and Vegeta tried to conquer Earth. After Goku takes down Nappa with ease, he turns his attention to Vegeta.
This fight is considered one of the most iconic fights in the series, showcasing the pair’s legendary fighting position. In addition to classic action in flight, there is the encounter between Kamehameha and the Galick Gun. Also, Vegeta turns into a were-ape and is ultimately defeated by the goofy comic relief character Yajirobi, who cuts off his tail. This is also a nice homage to the first Dragon Ball series.
