Honda, which is preparing to take important steps to strengthen its product range on the hybrid and all-electric model side in the next five years, continues to share its plans gradually. Marking the year 2040 to say goodbye to traditional engines, the Japanese manufacturer announced two important moves concerning the European market hours ago. Launching the hybrid version of the Civic over the hatchback version, Honda also demonstrated a fully electric SUV to be put into production in 2023. This model, which was shown on a concept vehicle called e:Ny1, can also be considered as the electric brother of the HR-V. In this context, the technical details of the model, which will directly rival names such as Peugept e-2008 and Opel Mokka-E, remain unknown at this stage.

In addition to the technical dynamics of e:Ny1, which was announced during the event, information about its name was avoided. The design side of the model, which we expect to be included in the product range with a different name during the transition to mass production, is largely in line with the new generation HR-V. While the structure, which includes the lighting group in the rear part, comes exactly from the HR-V, the vehicle will also have its own unique sides with sections such as the grille and rim options at the front. One of the things that draws our attention is that Honda does not carry the neo-retro design philosophy that it introduced on the roads with the “E” to the SUV side for the time being. In order for the e:Ny1 to be in an assertive position against its competitors, it is necessary to have a range of more than 300 kilometers. We expect to receive detailed information about the model later this year. Honda is also developing the Prologue model for the American market in partnership with General Motors.
