(Finance) – The legislative decree amending the Consolidated Law on Audiovisual Media Services (Tusmav) has been definitively approved by the Council of Ministers. As far as we know, the observations of the Culture and Transport and Telecommunications commissions of the Chamber have been partially implemented.
The Cdm approved the new Rai service contract. “The Council of Ministers, on the proposal of the Minister of Business and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, has resolved to approve the national service contract between the Ministry and Rai, for the period 2023-2028”. This was announced in the press release from Palazzo Chigi at the end of the meeting, explaining that the new contract “contains, among other things, specific regulations on ‘social and cultural inclusion’, with objectives aimed at the development of services and broadcasts in sign language (Lis) and the promotion and creation, also with new formats, of the culture of subsidiarity and the third sector”.
“The approval – specifies the note – follows the resolution with which the Communications Regulatory Authority (Agcom) approved the guidelines for the five-year period 2023-2028. On the basis of these, the Ministry of Business and of Made in Italy has prepared the contract outline, which received a favorable opinion, with some conditions, of the Parliamentary Commission for the general direction and supervision of radio and television services”.
