A week and a half ago, one of the biggest Netflix films of the year, Damsel, debuted. In the fantasy film, which, after its fairytale-like beginning, turns into a… Survival thriller transformed, Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown faces off against a hungry dragon. The action-adventure is very popular with audiences.
Since its launch, Damsel has remained at the top of the Netflix top 10. No wonder many fans are wondering if we’ll get a continuation of the story. The End of the original Part 2 should definitely not get in the way. In fact, there are two versions of this ending.

Damsel on Netflix: Alternative ending for the fantasy blockbuster with Millie Bobby Brown revealed
In an interview with The Direct, actress Brooke Carter discusses the making of the film and reveals that it was too extensive reshoots came, which mainly affect the third act. Carter can be seen in Damsel in the role of Floria. Floria is the younger sister of Millie Bobby Brown’s heroine Elodie.

About the alternative ending, Carter reveals:
We shot two different endings for the film. And I think it would be great to see the other ending because there is a suggests a completely different direction, what could happen in the future. At a [Ende] Elodie stayed with us and left at the other end.
She also adds:
There have been a lot of changes. I think we’ve changed a few things. The plot from beginning to middle remained the same. But the ending changed quite a bit. Many old dialogues were deleted, and many new ones added. So during the reshoots we replaced a whole bunch of scenes with others.
If we look closely at the film, the alternate ending makes a big difference. Last but not least, Damsel introduces the trope of Damsel in distress On the head: Elodie is not a helpless princess who needs to be rescued by a prince. The film does away with numerous fantasy and fairytale clichés.
Fantasy hit on Netflix: Damsel’s alternative ending fits Elodie’s story better
Right at the beginning, Elodie is thrown to the dragon by her prince. But she doesn’t even think about letting herself be eaten. Elodie fights for her Survival and their freedom. At the end of the film, she sets off home with her mother and sister – a small admission to the family.
The alternate ending Carter describes would have Elodie in one even more independent position brought. She would have left her past behind her in order to fulfill her big dream, which she formulates right at the beginning of the film, namely to discover the world. This would also have an impact on Part 2.
The sequel has not yet been officially announced. If Damsel 2 actually gets the green light given its Netflix success, the creative minds will now have to work with the final scene, which Elodie does with hers Mother and sister united. A different ending would have allowed for more leeway in the design.
