On Tuesday, Linn Svahn secured victory in the cross-country sprint cup.
But it was, just like the week before, Norwegian Kristine Stavå’s Skistad that won the competition.
Skistad about Svahn: “Pretty much the same”
Just like the week before, when she shrugged her shoulders a little nonchalantly as she crossed the finish line, she made a cocky gesture at the finish line – as she slowed down so that runner-up Svahn almost caught up with her.
But when SVT Sport spoke to 25-year-old Skistad after the competition, she said that, despite her cocky gestures towards the Swedes, she is happy that Svahn is back at the level she is.
– It’s fun that she came back. She has had some problems. And it’s fun with Linn, because we’re quite similar. We’re both pretty bad losers, so I think it could be fun in the future, she says, winking one eye.
There are quite often three or four Swedish women against you in the sprint finals, what does the strong Swedish opposition mean to you?
– That means everything.
“Just as bad losers”
When Linn Svahn hears Stavås Skistad’s statement that they are both equally bad losers, she laughs.
– I think that everyone who is here is just as bad a loser. It’s just that we show it in different ways. I probably don’t have a very good poker face to show it when I lose, she says.
