Woman from Ångermanland is charged – suspected of having tried to kill her own child

SVT Västernorrland has previously revealed that a woman from Ångermanland is in custody on suspicion of injuring her own child.

The woman is now being charged on suspicion of, among other things, abusing the child so that it got blood poisoning which was life-threatening.

The woman, who denies the crime, has previously gone unpunished.

During the investigation, the prosecutor referred to pre-trial confidentiality. But now that charges have been brought, SVT Västernorrland can take part in what the prosecutor suspects the woman exposed her child to.

In the indictment, the prosecutors describe how the woman allegedly “introduced bacteria by contaminating entrances or alternatively injecting pollution into the entrances. The abuse caused sepsis (blood poisoning), which was life-threatening, loss of consciousness and convulsions.
