According to the municipality, the final plan deviates “in parts” from the miller’s input. The design choice took into account various matters, such as cultural history, safety requirements and sustainability. “It was decided to make the construction of the new scaffolding entirely in steel, just as the mill was originally built in 1913. But carried out in accordance with current safety requirements. An all-steel construction has a longer lifespan than a wooden construction, and is therefore a sustainable choice.”
