A passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle collided at Marthaville Road and Courtright Line, south if Petrolia, about 11:40 am, Lambton OPP Const. Jamie Bydeley said.

The intersection was expected to remain closed to traffic until the afternoon or into the evening for the investigation, police said.

Stolen pickup used in Sarnia break-in spree

Someone used a stolen pickup in a break-in and theft “spree” in Bright’s Grove Thursday, Sarnia police say.

Ortec Environmental Services on Scott Road reported the theft of a white 2012 GMC pickup with company decals on Feb. 27, police said.

The decals were later painted over and the pickup was used during “a spree of break and enters throughout Bright’s Grove,” including on Stoneridge Drive, Kenwick Drive and Old Lakeshore Road, police said. A generator, construction tools, motorcycle, wheel and other items were taken.

The pickup truck has been recovered, but the break-ins are still being investigated, police said.

Residents are being asked to check security systems and vehicle dash cameras for images of the pickup or suspects Wednesday evening or early Thursday and to check their property and outbuildings for signs of additional crimes.

Arrest made on Sarnia’s Sycamore Drive

The emergency response team was called out this week to make an arrest on Sycamore Drive, Sarnia police.

Officers went to a Sycamore Drive resident Wednesday after receiving information about a suspect wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for assault with a weapon, uttering threats and breaching probation, police said.

When the suspect refused to surrender, the emergency response team was called out and entered the residence just before 11 pm and arrested a 29-year-old Sarnia resident, who was held for a bail hearing, police said.
