Nine skiers were gathered in a cluster after just over three miles of skiing – then it started Frida Karlsson in his jerk. No one else could match her pace, and the distance increased with each passage of time.
At the finish line, she was one minute and 19 seconds ahead of her closest challenger – her national team colleague Ebba Andersson.
Andersson, who had a failing form this winter since she contracted covid before the Tour de Ski, stood for a strong finish to the race and finally got to step on the podium again.
The German Katharina Hennig came third.
