In January came the list of which girl’s names were the most popular in Sweden in 2023. Elsawhich wasn’t even on the top ten list in 2022, topped the list, while Maya drove out.
One reason why there were a lot of changes on the list of the most popular names is because SCB stopped their lists in 2022.
Instead it is Tax Agency which compiled 2023’s most common names, and unlike Statistics Sweden, the Tax Agency only reports unique spellings. For example, count Clara and Done as two unique names.
