Will Oppenheimer win the Oscar or Oppenheimer? Admittedly, the race for the golden ones Academy Awards There is a bit of a lack of uncertainty this year. Christopher Nolan’s atomic bomb creation elegy has won almost all the relevant awards in advance that are relevant to the forecasts: the awards from the Producers’ Guild (PGA), the Directors’ Union (DGA) and the Actors’ Guild (SAG). Even the British basked in the radiant glow of the unusual blockbuster with their BAFTA Award.
But firstly, there are other prizes and secondly, the surroundings, which are usually much more entertaining than the question of who gets to let the golden naked egg collect dust on a mantelpiece.
Why the Oscar race is exciting (kind of)
That alone Field of the best leading actresses boasts a potential historic win for Native American actress Lily Gladstone of Killers of the Flower Moon fame. Unless a surprise winner comes her way, with Suhl-born Sandra Hülser (Anatomy of a Case) or even a second Oscar for Emma Stone (Poor Things).
The German film The Teacher’s Room can hope to win an award Best International Film make. And even if the favorite The Zone of Interest snatches this award, the annual Oscar patriotism will be boosted thanks to its actress (also Sandra Hülser).
To describe it with the experience of a short-term Formula 1 viewer: It’s not about who wins the main prize (Oppenheimer, the Max Verstappen of this year’s Oscar season), but about the stories in the chasing field or in the many other categories. Past years have shown that a botched or endearing acceptance speech from a fringe category can provide more entertainment than the Oscar for Best Picture. And one thing is pretty certain: The Flash won’t be mentioned this year.

Unlike a film festival, for example, there is no jury at the Oscars, but rather several thousand people who vote on the nominations and winners of the Academy Awards in a complex election process.
