The police received a call shortly after 11 p.m. on Thursday evening about a shooting in a residential area in Bredäng in southern Stockholm.
– Several call and say that a man has been shot, that he is lying down, says Mats Eriksson, press spokesperson at the Stockholm Police.
Medical personnel determined at the scene that the man, who is aged 25, is deceased. Relatives have been notified.
The hunt for the perpetrator is ongoing
A large police operation is underway in the area.
– A hunt for the perpetrator or perpetrators has been launched. We are on site and talking to witnesses who may have seen or heard things, so that we can improve our picture of the situation, says Mats Eriksson.
– At the same time, we check people in the area, stop cars and so on.
No one has been arrested at this time.
A preliminary investigation into murder has been opened.
