The police were alerted shortly before 5 a.m. to loud explosions in Täby, just north of Stockholm.
Several shots had been fired through a window into a terraced house.
– It has very likely happened during the night, you have heard explosions in the area. It took a while before we located the right residence, says Carina Skagerlind, press spokesperson at the police.
No one was at home when the incident occurred and a preliminary investigation into aggravated weapons offenses and aggravated unlawful threats has been initiated.
– There are a number of shots fired, says Carina Skagerlind.
The police are now conducting a technical examination of the site and investigating whether there is any threat to the address.
– It is too early to say whether there is, but we are investigating it, says Carina Skagerlind.
