An armed raid was carried out by gangs on the Croix des Bouquets Prison in Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti. During the raid in question, armed gangs clashed with security forces.
NEARLY 4 THOUSAND PRISONERS ESCAPED
During the conflict, 3,600 prisoners escaped from prison and 12 people lost their lives.
STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNMENT
In the statement made by the Haitian government, it was reported that criminal organizations attacked the prison in the early hours of the morning and the armed men escaped from the area as a result of the resistance of the police.
On the other hand, it was shared that there were 17 Colombian citizens in the prison raided by gangs and that the Colombian government was in contact with the Haitian authorities.
