Armand Duplantis is once again the world’s best pole vaulter.
The 24-year-old has now won seven straight gold medals during his career.
“Mondo” salvaged yet another WC gold after great drama this evening.
The Swedish stave star Armand Duplantis was under a lot of pressure in the WC pole vault final in Glasgow. Duplantis had two tears at the height of 5.85 – while the competitors Sam KendricksUnited States, and Emmanuel KaralisGreece, had managed the height.
Mondo looking bad
The star looked downcast, before getting up to prepare for one of the most important jumps of his championship career. Then he managed the height in his third attempt and is still in the fight for the WC gold.

The Swede then refrained from jumping at the next height, 5.90. By clearing 5.85, Duplantis has secured at least WC bronze.

Duplantis then cleared 5.95 in the second attempt – a result that was enough for the Swede to win ahead of Sam Kendricks, USA, and Emmanouil Karalis, Greece.
He was under a lot of pressure, but when it mattered most, Armand Duplantis once again showed who is the world’s best pole vaulter. The Swede won the gold at the indoor WC in Glasgow.
