Israeli media announced that the Hamas delegation came to Cairo, the capital of Egypt. The Israeli press wrote that the Israeli delegation was expected to be in Cairo later in the day, and quoted a source known to be close to the Israeli side as saying that the Israeli side would not send a delegation if the full list of surviving captives was not given. It was reported that the US and Qatari parties, as well as the Hamas delegation led by Khalil Al-Hiya, also arrived in Cairo.
CRITICAL HOURS
An unnamed Hamas official reportedly said that a ceasefire could be achieved in Gaza within 24 to 48 hours if Israel accepts the demands. “A ceasefire is possible within the next 24 to 48 hours if Israel accepts Hamas’ demands, such as the return of displaced Palestinians to the north of Gaza and increased humanitarian aid,” the unnamed official said.
USA: ISRAEL ACCEPTED, IT’S HAMAS’ TURN
In his statement yesterday, a US official claimed that Israel had accepted a 6-week ceasefire in the region and said, “Now Hamas must accept it.” The unnamed official added that efforts will continue to ensure that this agreed ceasefire continues in the region permanently. (UAV)
