Starting March 1, 2024, drivers will have to pay even more to recover their impounded vehicle. Here is the price to pay, depending on the city, to recover your car.
When the vehicle is not parked correctly or obstructs traffic, it may be removed. But the surprise is not limited to the astonishment of no longer seeing your car parked where you left it, since to get it back, motorists have to take out their checkbook. Yes, parking poorly is expensive, and from now on, if your car is impounded, you will have to pay even more than before, according to a new decree published in the Official Journal on February 29, which sets the maximum prices that can be practiced by pounds in France.
Thus, from March 1, 2024, prices are increasing, whether for collection or storage costs. In fact, the price of removing a car from the roadway now amounts to 127.65 euros instead of 121.27 euros. As for the price of childcare, it costs 6.75 euros per day. Remember that after three days, an expert is called in to define the condition of the vehicle: is it possible to drive with it or should it be taken off the road, are repairs necessary? An opinion that you could do without, and which will cost you up to 61 euros. Note that this pricing is increasing for most cities, some of which are increasing more than others, such as in large cities. Are concerned: municipalities with more than 400,000 inhabitants such as Lyon, Toulouse and Marseille. Removal costs the same as elsewhere, but the custody costs increase to 10 euros per day instead of 6.75 euros.
As is often the case, the capital is the place most impacted by this increase. So, if you have the misfortune of having your car taken away in Paris, you will have to pay 150 euros, then custody costs of up to 29 euros per day.
For those who are “lucky” enough to arrive on time, before an employee of the pound has already blocked both wheels of the vehicle, know that it is possible to recover it without having to pay the costs of kidnapping or custody. But you will still have to pay 15.20 euros.
