(Finance) – The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport announced that in February they were registered 147,094 cars compared to the 130,405 registrations recorded in the same month of the previous year, equal to an increase of 12.80%. There were 476,067 ownership transfers compared to 413,223 transfers recorded in February 2023, with an increase of 15.21%. The global volume of monthly sales, equal to 623,161, involved 23.60% new cars and 76.40% used cars.
“In the second month of 2024, the Italian car market remains positive (+12.8%) – he commented Roberto VavassoriPresident of ANPHIA – even considering one more working day compared to February 2023 (21 days versus 20). While the activities of the Automotive Development Table at MIMIT continue, the Prime Ministerial Decree which will implement the new incentives is awaited. We hope that the publication of the Decree will be as rapid as possible, to avoid the prolongation of the ‘waiting effect’ on the market and a climate of uncertainty among consumers and businesses, as well as to soon see the effects of a more attractive ecobonus compared to the previous one. Certainly to support demand and the acceleration of the pace of renewal of the fleet in circulation, the measure should above all play as a driving force in the adoption of new technologies, also thanks to the opening of the bonus to all companies, in particular encouraging the further diffusion of cars with low or no local CO2 emissions”.
“We are waiting for the publication of the Prime Ministerial Decree which will make the new 2024 incentives operational, the entry into force of which has been announced for months and is generating a paralysis in the sales of zero or very low emission cars. As reiterated several times, we hope that the incentives will therefore be fully operational as soon as possible, to avoid the further continuation of this negative waiting effect”, underlines the President ofUNRAE Michele Crisci.
