Last night eight cars were damaged by a major fire in Veenendaal. The fire was reported at the Zuiderkruis around 3:25 am. Flames erupted from several cars. Three parked cars and a van were completely on fire, which was extinguished by the fire brigade. One of the residents was able to drive his car away just in time, according to a press photographer on site. Four cars facing the burning cars were damaged. The police suspect that the fire was started and are investigating. Anyone who has seen anything suspicious is asked to contact the police.
