About noon, police posted on social media site X a photo of an officer escorting a person in custody, and warning there would be increased police presence in the area.
No injuries were reported, no shots fired, one person was in custody, and there was no information available about charges, said Insp. Mike Vansickle, adding he couldn’t disclose whether there were more suspects involved.
“The investigation is still very much active,” he said, adding later, “This one is pretty complex.”
The rest of the motel was operating as usual, Vansickle said.
Units 23 and 15 at the motel were tapped off Thursday evening, and 23’s door was off its hinges and remaining to block the doorway.
The hotel’s owner, who asked his name not be published, said he hadn’t seen or heard anything about the incident.
Hopes are to release more information soon, Vansickle said.
